After a quick break our weding it was strait back to
work with Gordie working with Russell again. They shot one car ad for
Motor and another for My State Financial.
Anna spent a week with Peter Crocker as his sound
attachment on a doco shoot Feril Peril, which was shot for ABC around
Tasmania. Working on a documentary was a new and therefore very
valuable experience.

A very happy day - we got married! The ceremony was held in
Richmond at the bridge, followed by a reception in Richmond Hall.
It was a great day, beautiful weather and relaxed atmosphere. We
thank to all our friends and family who came to share the day
with us and who helped us to make it happen.
The hoeneymoon had to be postponed as we
have too much work waiting for us in the office but we sure will
make up for it later down the year.

Anna left the office for couple of weeks to do the sound attachment on the shoot of The Last Confession of Alexander Pearce. It
is a factual drama shot in the beautiful location of Lake St. Claire in
Craddle Mountains. Anna had great time working on the shoot, it had a
great atmosphere and working with the sound recordist Will Sheridan was
a great experience and excellent learning. Now we just wait to see the
movie, the premier is scheduled for October this year.

till it comes back from post to have a look at the finished product.
Also many thanks to Peter Curtis from ABC for his wonderful mentoring
support and all the help on this shoot!

A busy month in our office. We had been to few weddings this month,
all turned out to be very nice days so we are now madly editing
our footage so we can get the final DVDs back to the newlywed couples
who are sure curious to see it.
Also there is preproduction work happening for couple of short film
shoots which taking place around Hobart during March. Gordie has
a chance to DOP two of them while Anna will be recording sound for
two as well. We have some interesting scripts and young Directors
to work with so it should be couple of exciting days.

Speaking of Hub productions, I spent a great week over with Barry
and the Team based at production headquarters in Port Melbourne.
My travels with the team during the week, took me to Ballarat for
a big budget truck commercial shoot. Great time spent with the Melbourne
crew and had a fantastic time going over the top of the line equipment.
Well worth the trip.
December 2006
I have recently returned from an exciting trip. I had the great
opportunity to work camera assisting and loading for Australian
Cinematographer Barry Malseed of Hub Production. We were shooting
scenic shots around Smithton and the beautiful North West for a
Chinese Milk commercial/ Lots of fun and great experience. Best
bit was loading the film for an Arri 435 35mm. Fantastic camera,
great crew. Big thanks to Zoot and Melbourne's Hub productions.
November 2006
I've just finished 3 weeks work on an Irish\Tasmanian produced
documentary called Exile in Hell. It's about the escape and capture
of
Pearce the Cannibal convict. I was lucky enough to be Camera Assistant
to
experienced DOP Joe McCeaver. Also it was great to work with the
Tasmanian
team at Zoot who did a fantastic job producing!
October 2006
I have just returned from Melbourne after the Victorian Tasmanian
ACS
(Australian Cinematography Society) awards night. I was extremely
lucky and
honored to receive the Silver Award for student Cinematography for
my work
the film Assassin X. It ended up being a huge night and great fun
meeting
some of the best DOP's in the country. Also when I got home to Tassie
I felt
like a minor celebrity getting a mention in the Mercury and an interview
on
ABC radio.
In a busy month I've just returned from a quick trip to Sydney
where I DOP'ed
a quick short for a Sydney filmmaker Duy Yen Chau with old friend
and class
mate from film school Mickele Imperalie producing and Rohan Weir
on sound.
It was a small project but a great script and lots of fun to do.
Also you
can't beat working with old friends. Look forward to seeing it.

I have finished up working as Camera Assistant\ loader on the
Aurora's Perfect World Ad Campaign. Once again I was lucky enough
to be

Another
fantastic experience. Also it was great working the SR2 super 16mm

the
campaign on TV.

I've just returned from Sydney after working as Cinematographer
on a short Film called "Assassin X" with Darn Ward directing.
It was a lot of hard work but ended up being a great experience
which was heightened by working with a fantastic Sydney crew. Many
new skills were learnt including working with an armorer and an
explosive tech! I left Sydney very happy after seeing the rushes
– a great experience.

Things are moving at full speed here at Ideal Media. Since our
new Mac G5 editing machine arrived at the end of October, it’s
barely had time to rest! The Photography section of idealmedia has
also had a boost in equipment with the purchase of a new camera,
accessories, and full commercial studio kit which includes a hi-end
negative scanner.
I’ve also been honored by being invited back to my film school
in Sydney to act as Cinematographer for a short film. With a bit
of luck and careful organising there might be enough of a break
in the Ideal Media diary to take up the offer.
